**Carl and Calla Curman — the couple who shaped Lysekil's cityscape. **
**2025 marks 100 years since Calla Curman's donation of Rod Head! **
Join us on an inspiring walk through Lysekil's most iconic environments, where history meets the magnificence of nature. We begin in the charming Havsbad area, where the swimming doctor Carl Curman with his dedication, ideas and network made Lysekil one of the country's most popular beach resorts. Royal visits, Fisheries exhibitions and the elegant (bathing) houses put the small west coast dyle on the map.
Calla is perhaps best known as the one who saved Stångepää from the ravages of the stone industry, but her contributions to culture and nature extend far beyond that. She was language savvy, musical and had a strong will to make an impact. She made her mark on social life, both here in Lysekil and at home in Stockholm.
